B Corp recertification and why your reporting now has to last three years?
There are now more than 3,000 B Corps in the UK, employing over 200,000 people, according to B Lab UK. If yours is one of them, the new certification standards change how you need to keep your records.

What changed?
B Lab launched new standards in April 2025, and three changes matter for reporting.
The overall score has gone. You now have to meet requirements across seven topics, including climate, fair work and human rights, and doing well in one area no longer makes up for falling short in another. Larger companies also face more checks than smaller ones. The biggest change is that you now have to show improvement three years and five years after certifying, and keep improving after that.
Why that's a reporting problem?
Showing improvement means comparing this year with three years ago. That only works if the figure from three years ago was recorded clearly enough to trust. In most companies, the evidence for certification sits in a spreadsheet built for that one submission, and the impact report is written separately by marketing, from the same sources, rounded differently. Three years on, nobody is sure which version was right.
Two habits help. Write down how each figure is worked out, so someone else could repeat it. And be wary of figures that only come out of one piece of software, because you'll probably change software before year five.
Public claims are getting more attention too. B Lab updated its rules on how companies use the B Corp logo in January 2026, and is warning companies that sell into the EU about new rules on green claims. A line like "we're committed to sustainability" is increasingly the kind of thing somebody asks you to back up.
One source, several reports
This is the problem Yarra One is built to fix. We turn your reporting into a web-based system your team runs, with one shared source for your figures and different views for different readers: the evidence B Lab needs, the impact report your customers read and the summary your board wants. Previous years sit alongside this one, so showing improvement is something you can pull up in minutes.
To be clear about what we don't do: we don't measure your emissions, audit your supply chain or verify anything. That's for your specialists and for B Lab. We build the place where the results live and get published.
Our entry tier is £1,500 to build and £200 a month to run.
If you're recertifying under the new standards and your evidence is spread across several spreadsheets and a couple of people's heads, book a call before the deadline gets close.
